Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Rivers State, Zacchaeus Adangor has rejected his redeployment as Commissioner for Special Duties.
He also tendered his resignation from the state executive council.
In recent events, Zacchaeus resigned from his role as the Attorney-General of the state on December 14th amidst tensions between Governor Sim Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike. Following a series of political upheavals, Zacchaeus and other commissioners reinstated their positions after being reconfirmed by the state House of Assembly.
Earlier in the week, Governor Fubara restructured his cabinet, appointing Zacchaeus as the commissioner for Special Duties within the Governor’s Office.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary to the Rivers State government, Zacchaeus rejected his new office.
In his resignation letter, Zacchaeus, a strong ally of Wike, accused Governor Fubara of interfering with the performance of his duties as Attorney General of the state.
