R&B star, Ashanti has announced engagement to American rapper, Nelly.
Ashanti made this known in an exclusive interview with Essence Magazine on Wednesday.
She also revealed that they are expecting their first child together.
“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation.
“Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience,” Ashanti stated.
Ashanti and Nelly started dating in 2003 but broke up in 2013.
They rekindled their romance in 2023, with them making it official in an Instagram post on Ashanti’s birthday in October.
While this will be Ashanti’s first child, Nelly on the other hand, is already a father to two children from a previous relationship.
Nelly equally has two adopted children from his stepsister, Jaqueline Donahue, who died from leukaemia in 2005.
