Ibrahim Magu Shamelessly Betrayed His Oath of Office as EFCC Chairman
MAGU DOES NOT DESERVE A PRESIDENTIAL PARDON (PART 1)

The Justice Salami Committee that investigated the tenure of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the EFCC was overwhelmed by incontrovertible evidence of corruption against the supposed Chairman of the apex anti-graft agency of our nation. The highly respected Salami’s committee could easily have concluded that Ibrahim Magu represented an anti-climax in the enthusiasm of Nigerians that a culture of transparency was being established in the civics of leadership and service. Unfortunately , the very man who was so empowered to be the catalyst at the zenith of this initiative proved to be a monumental fraud; Magu turned out to be an acidic corrosive agent of retrogression. The ex-EFCC Chairman with the benefit of hindsight turned out to be a fox put in charge of a cage of vulnerable animals as Magu ferociously and greedily restructured public assets and cash into his private ownership .
Rather than pulling our nation upwards towards the establishment of a new paradigm of fidelity to honesty in position of trust, the disgraced, the dismissed and never confirmed EFCC Chairman ( Magu) turned out to be far more decadent than some of the worst politicians and public officers that he was demonizing. What is being chronicled here are not the opinions of the Peoples’ Alliance for New Nigeria (PANN) , the report of Justice Salami’s Committee which was submitted to President Buhari in November 2020 is the best source of verification –the outcome of the tragic narrative of an anti-graft agency under Magu are presented in comprehensive detail in that report.
Mr. President cannot endanger and risk his own final legacy on the agenda of fighting corruption, President Buhari will be inflicting a perpetual stain on his political heritage if it is in any way true that Ibrahim Magu is being considered for a presidential pardon. In fact, the price that Magu should pay for his indisputable criminal conduct and the shocking moral affliction that he visited on the psyche of Nigerians is for him to be dis-honorably discharged from the police force forthwith. Magu deserves nothing less.
