Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has denied purported plan to relocate a firefighting simulator from the Nigerian College of Technology, Zaria, to Lagos State.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Tunde Moshood, Keyamo labeled the claims as the fabrication of mischief-makers.
Reports by DAILY POST sparked varied reactions following concerns raised by the Northern Elders Forum, as expressed by Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, its Director of Publicity and Advocacy, who deemed the purported move unsettling.
Keyamo, however, addressed the matter directly, asserting, “The attention of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has been drawn to a video circulating of a motion raised in the House of Representatives regarding an alleged plan to relocate a firefighting simulator from the Nigerian College of Technology, Zaria, to Lagos State.”
He continued, “This rumor is baseless and driven by those seeking to disrupt. Despite the House’s concern, it was unnecessary, as the Speaker had already privately engaged with the Minister, who assured him of the falsity of these claims.”
The statement sought to allay any concerns about the purported transfer, affirming the ministry’s commitment to transparency and dismissing the allegations as unfounded.
