Edo 2024: Don’t Overheat Polity Ahead of Election – Forum

Edo State Media Executives’ Forum, the umbrella body of Heads of Media Organisations in Edo State, has appealed to politicians and critical stakeholders not to overheat the polity ahead of the Sept. 21 Governorship election in the state.

The appeal is contained in a communique signed by its chairman Mr. Nosa Ogbeide and Secretary, Mr. Kevin Okunzuwa in Benin City.

While urging the 17 cleared candidates of the different political parties by INEC to ensure they made their campaigns issue based, the media executives also called on the leaderships of the parties and their followers to be tolerant of one another.

The media executives also advised other critical stakeholders like INEC, security agencies, Civil Society Organizations and Non-Governmental Organisations, to ensure they discharged their statutory mandates in compliance with the electoral Act.

The media executives restated their resolve to avail all willing governorship candidates equal opportunities in their different platforms to reach out to the electorate.
