Court Remands Man over Alleged Defilement of 11-Year-Old Girl

A man, Ernest Okporu has been remanded into the facility of the Nigerian Correctional Services, Sapele by a Delta State High Court sitting in Orerokpe Community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

He was remanded by the court over alleged defilement of his landlord’s 11-year-old daughter.

Meanwhile, the presiding judge, Hon. Justice Joe Egwu has adjourned the matter to April 24 for the advice from the Department of Public Prosecution, DPP.

Reacting, Human right activist, Comrade Kelvin Ejumudo hailed the Court for remanding the suspect, stating that it will serve as a deterrent to others.

“For those who reached out to me to back off from this case and also offered money, I am sorry I do not indulge in such unscrupulous practice because an injury to one is an injury to all and injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere,” he stated.
