The Zamfara State College of Health Sciences and Technology, CHST, Tsafe, has received approval for additional diploma courses from the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
The is contained in a statement on Monday by the college’s Information Officer, Jamilu Sani Tsafe and made available to newsmen.
The statement described the development as a significant milestone aimed at meeting the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.
While expressing gratitude for the approval, the Provost of the college, Alhaji Hamisu Yusuf Yelwa, stated that the institution underwent a rigorous accreditation process.
He listed the newly approved courses as National Diploma programs in Public Health, Epidemiology and Disease Control, Environmental Health Technology, Dental Surgery Technology, Health Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering and Computer Sciences.
Yelwa observed that existing courses such as Community Health Technology and Environmental Health Technology were also included in the approved list.
Meanwhile, the provost of Zamfara State College of Health Sciences and Technology has announced an expansion of slots for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW), in response to the growing demand for healthcare workers.
