Yobe: Police Crack Down on Power Cable Vandals

Yobe State Police Command has arrested two suspected vandals with power transmission cables in a significant stride in combating vandalism of public property.

In a statement through its public relations officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command noted that the suspects, Yahaya Mustapha, 28, and Bello Yakubu, 38, both of Takari Ward, Gashu’a Bade Local Government Area, were arrested in possession of a large quantity of dismantled power transmission cables in Waro Village, Karasuwa LGA.

The statement said the suspects were caught loading the cables onto a tricycle.

The police command reaffirmed its commitment to fighting crime and vandalism and called on community members to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities around public properties.

The Yobe State Police Command also commended citizens for providing credible information, which has helped the command to achieve more success in the fight against crime and criminality.
