With just five years to the 2030 target for achieving universal health coverage only about 134 of the 195 countries have succeeded in halfing their rates.
The immediate past president of World Medical Association Dr. Osahon Enabulele disclosed this when he paid an advocacy visit to Radio Nigeria Bronze FM Benin.
According to the world renowned medic, 75% of the remaining 61 countries yet to achieve the SDG 3 target are in sub-saharan Africa, including Nigeria.
Dr. Enabulele was speaking on the heels of the proposed launch of Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation scheduled for the 29th of January, 2025 at the Akin Deko main Auditorium of the University of Benin.
The event he said would feature lectures and paper presentations from world renowned scholars prior to its formal lunch.
According to Dr Enabulele, the Foundation hopes to impact future generations in practical ways, while contributing to catalyze progressive social change and orientation through practicable initiatives.
Dr. Enabulele solicited collaboration with the media for schemes that would revive Nigerians, rekindle hope to the next generation to do better even through mandatory incubatory periods.
The team was received by the General Manager Radio Nigeria Bronze FM Benin Dr. Mrs. Abimbola Oyetunde alongside her management team.
Dr. Oyetunde assured the foundation of Bronze Fm’s support towards the success of the event and subsequent outings.
