A physiotherapist at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, was killed last Friday by gunmen at the hospital.
It was said that the gunmen stormed the hospital and shot the deceased, simply identified as Alex, to death.
It was gathered that patients and other health workers at the hospital scampered for safety as a result of the incident.
Following the development, some staff of the health institution, especially those at the physiotherapy department, embarked on a peaceful protest over the gruesome killing of their colleague.
In a viral video, the staff were seen protesting and brandishing various placards to register their displeasure over the killing of the physiotherapist.
Confirming the incident, public relations officer of the teaching hospital, Joshua Uwaila, said the management of the hospital has reported the matter to the security agencies and is awaiting the outcome of their findings.
