United States President, Donald Trump has ordered the declassification and release of all remaining files related to the assassination of former US President John F Kennedy.
Trump who gave the order on Thursday, also directed the release of the last remaining records on the killings of Robert F Kennedy, JFK’s younger brother, and the civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.
Trump’s order requested the Director of National Intelligence must present a plan within 15 days for the full and complete release of files related to JFK’s assassination.
For the other two assassinations, DNI must present a plan within 45 days for the release of their documents.
The deaths of Robert F Kennedy, JFK’s younger brother, and Martin Luther King Jr have been the subject of popular conspiracy theories for six decades, with surveys showing widespread doubt about official explanations of the killings.
Signing the order at the White House, Trump said “This is a big one. A lot of people have been waiting for this for years, for decades”.
“And everything will be revealed,” he added.
