The US president, Donald Trump, is considering imposing a new travel ban on 22 African Countries and 21 other countries.
This is contained in a document shared by The New York Times.
The document lists nations whose citizens could face restrictions on entering the US.
Libya, Somalia, and Sudan are African countries in the ‘Red’ category (all travel is banned).
Under ‘Orange’ (visas sharply restricted) are Sierra Leone, Eritrea, and South Sudan.
The nations under ‘Yellow’ (given 60 days to address concerns) comprise Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Angola, Benin and the Republic of Congo.
Others are The Gambia, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and PrÃncipe, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mali and Mauritania.
The move harks back to President Donald Trump’s first-term ban on travellers from seven majority-Muslim nations.
The policy went through several iterations before being upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018.
