Nigerian defender, William Troost-Ekong has expressed his full support for his country man, Ademola Lookman to clinch the coveted title of “Africa’s Best Player” at the 2024 CAF Awards.
Troost-Ekong who didn’t hold back his admiration for Lookman, clearly stated that the Nigerian forward is the standout contender for the accolade.
“I would say he’s arguably our best player and the best player in Africa right now,” Troost-Ekong stated.
Lookman, who has had an impressive season, is one of the finalists for the prestigious CAF Men’s Player of the Year (POTY) award.
Others in the race are Serhou Guirassy, Achraf Hakimi, and Rowen Williams.
The winner will be made known next Monday at the grand CAF Awards ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco.
