A wanted bandit and a military impersonator in Taraba State have been arrested by troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade/Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke.
The arrests were said to have been made under Operation LAFIYAN JAMAA, following credible intelligence provided by residents of the locality.
In a statement on Friday, acting spokesperson for the brigade, Captain Oni Olubodunde, said the troops also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.
The statement pointed out that further intelligence led to the arrest of Yusuf Hammadu, also known as “Dogo,” on April 19 in Lainde Jessy, Lau LGA.
Hammadu had long been on the radar of security agencies for his alleged involvement in violent crimes in the region.
Meanwhile, the army has restated its commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba and urged the public to remain vigilant and continue sharing useful information with security forces.
