President Bola Tinubu has written to the National Assembly for the consideration and passage of the 2025 budget of the Rivers State Government.
In the letter to the National Assembly, President Tinubu disclosed that a N1.481 trillion budget is being presented to the National Assembly.
According to him, the sum of N324 billion of the N1.481 trillion will be expended on infrastructure, while N166 billion is earmarked for health.
He also stated that N75.6 billion is for education and N31.4 for agriculture.
Tinubu stated that by the provisions of the budget, agriculture is expected to generate about 6000 jobs.
He appealed to the lawmakers to urgently pass the budget for the good of Rivers State.
The President noted that the presentation of the Rivers budget to the National Assembly is in view of the nullification of the state’s 2025 budget, earlier presented by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, by the Supreme Court.
He also attributed the budget presentation to the fact that the state is currently under emergency rule.
