The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given President Bola Tinubu 48 hours to reverse the recent 50% telcos tariff hike.
In a statement, the organisation observed that failure to do so by the Tinubu administration means they will be charged in court.
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, had on Monday, January 20, approved a 50 per cent hike in telecoms tariff.
The approved increment was made known in a statement signed by NCC Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Reuben Muoka.
NCC noted that tariff rates have remained static since 2013, despite the increasing costs of operation faced by telecom operators.
The commission added that the approved adjustment is aimed at addressing the significant gap between operational costs and current tariffs while ensuring that the delivery of services to consumers is not compromised.
