The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced the restoration of normal bulk electricity supply to the six states in North-east Nigeria.
The power restoration comes after completing the connection of the new Bauchi 330/132 kV Transmission Substation to the national grid through the 330 kV and 132 kV Jos-Bauchi-Gombe Transmission Line.
A statement on Sunday by TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah disclosed that the lines were initially switched off to enable the company energise the new Bauchi Substation to the grid.
According to the statement, supply to the north-east has been restored since the 19th of June at about 16:45 hours following the reconnection.
It expressed the belief that the reconnection of the new substation to the national grid has enhanced power reliability, diversified transmission routes, and improved emergency response capabilities in the Northeastern region.
The TCN appreciated the patience and support of affected customers during the outage period.
