Newly crowned African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, will hold a trophy parade in Abuja on Monday.
Recall that the Justine Madugu’s side secured a 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title on Saturday after defeating the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco 3-2.
The players and their officials are scheduled to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, on Monday by 12:00pm.
They will be hosted later in the day at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The team will move in an open-roof bus along major districts in Abuja, with the iconic trophy on display for onlookers.
The Super Falcons’ route will include Airport Road, Wuse Market, Berger Junction, and Maitama, culminating at the Presidential Villa.
It is anticipated that a large crowd of fans will gather to greet the team.
Prominent government officials and key stakeholders in the sports sector are also expected to be part of the reception ceremony.
