A stray bullet allegedly fired by a policeman has killed a student going for the West African School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The student, said to be writing the ongoing WASSCE, was hit by the stray bullet around Gbagi Market Road in the early hours of Tuesday.
TREND REPORTERS gathered that the stray bullet was fired by a police officer who was pursuing a suspect.
The victim was immediately rushed to Welfare Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, some angry residents have taken to the street to protest against the killing of the student.
The protesters took the student’s lifeless body to the Oyo State Government Secretariat and called on the state governor, Seyi Makinde to intervene.
