Shooting Stars Deny Match Fixing Allegations

The management of Shooting Stars has refuted match-fixing allegations leveled against the club by a presenter.

Presenting a sports programme aired on an Ibadan-based radio station, a presenter,  allegedly claimed that Shooting Stars deliberately surrendered a two-goal lead against Katsina United and sold out the South West derby clash against Remo Stars which they lost 1-0.

Buty, in a statement issued on Friday, the Oluyole Warriors frowned at what it termed baseless and unfounded allegations against the club.

The football team frowned on the unprofessional outburst of the presenter, making references to the matches, the players, as well as other individuals whom he mentioned as culprits.

It stated that nobody from the club granted an interview on the radio station and therefore, wondered how the presenter came up with his reports that the chairman, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro offered match officials money during some games.
