The Senate has set up an 18-member committee tasked with overseeing the activities of the Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.).
Senate President Godswill Akpabio disclosed this during the resumption of plenary on Tuesday.
Akpabio pointed out that the committee was constituted in a bid to strengthen transparency and accountability in the state’s governance.
The senate president also highlighted the importance of the committee’s mandate, stating that its role is critical in ensuring effective legislative oversight in Rivers State.
Akpabio also declared that the composition of the committee might be subject to review following further consultations.
He charged members of the committee to begin its oversight duties without delay.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele is chairman of the committee.
Members of the committee include Senators Adamu Aliero, Kaka Shehu, Aminu Abass, Tokunbo Abiru, Osita Izunaso and Osita Ngwu.
Others are Adams Oshiomhole, Ireti Kingibe, Onyekachi, Adeniyi Adebire, Sani Musa, Simon Lalong, Asuquo Ekpeyong, Idiat Adebule, Ide Dafinone, and Mohammed, alongside the Clerk of the Senate.
