Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara has signed the state’s N1.1 trillion 2025 budget into law.
Speaking after signing the budget into law on Thursday, the governor appreciated the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led State Assembly for doing a good job.
According to Fubara, the only House of Assembly existing in the state was the one led by Oko-Jumbo.
TREND REPORTERS recalls that the Rivers State governor had on Monday last week presented the N1.1 trillion budget to the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led House of Assembly.
Fubara declared that Martins Amaewhule and 26 other members, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, can no longer be recognised as legislators.
He emphasized that after given the group ample time to reconsider their position, the decision to disqualify them is final and irreversible.
The Amaewhule group are loyal to former governor of the state and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Wike and Fubara have been at loggerheads with each other.
