Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has called on well spirited Nigerians and corporate bodies to partner government at all levels in the fight against poverty and hunger.
The governor made the call in Benin City, in a message during the distribution of 13,000 bags of rice donated by Aliko Dangote Foundation to the vulnerable in the State.
The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Dennis Idahosa said the fight against poverty and hunger was a collective responsibility of all Nigerians
He expressed the believe that through partnerships, the government would build a more resilient, secure, and prosperous future for all.
Governor Okpebolo restated his administration’s commitment to sustainable agriculture in the state to contribute to the food security program of the country, as well as help reduce prices of staple foods in the state.
The Rice Distribution Flag off was attended by representative of the Dangote Foundation, leaders of Market unions as well as representatives of vulnerable group, elderly and other interest groups.
