The Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company, WRPC, in Warri, Delta State has began operations.
Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mele Kyari made this public during a tour at the facility on Monday.
Speaking during the tour of the facility which began on Monday, Kyari said, “This plant is running. Although it is not 100 per cent complete, we are still in the process”.
“Many people think these things are not real. They think real things are not possible in this country. We want you to say that this is real,” he further stated.
The commencement of oil production by the Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company is coming a month after the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery situated in Rivers State.
