The Oba of Benin, His royal majesty, Omo N’Oba Ewuare the second Ogidigan, has concluded the 2024 igue festival with a thanksgiving to Almighty God and ancestors at the foremost Benin church, the Holly Aruosa Cathedral, Benin City, Edo State.
The royal father was accompanied by his queens, royal family members, top Palace chiefs and functionaries, enigie, edionwere, priests and priestesses of different deities, various palace groups, including market women group led by Josephine Ibhaguezejele.
In a sermon, the presiding priest of Holy Aruosa Cathedral, Igbinoghoduwa Edebiri admonished worshipers to persist in their prayers and believe in Almighty, despite the trials and temptations of life.
The head priest of Edo National Church of God stressed that Almighty God and ancestors will not renege to deliver their children from every wicked devices, if they continue in sincere prayers and supplications daily.
Omo N’Oba Ewuare Ogidigan amidst melodious songs from the choristers and cheers from large congregation, in humble adoration, danced to the holy altar to give thanks to Almighty God and ancestors for the successful completion of the weeks long festival.
