The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command has arrested and prosecuted three individuals for vandalizing water pipes belonging to the Osun State Water Corporation.
The criminal elements are Michael Odeniran, aged 43; Ganiyu Mutiu Olalekan, aged 32; and Muritala Ridwan, aged 32.
In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, the commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, disclosed that the arrests are in line with the mandate of the corps.
The commandant further said the suspects were arrested on April 10, 2025, at about 11:00am at Oloki Reservoir Site via Akoda, along Gbongan-Osogbo Road, Ede.
While warning those vandalizing government infrastructure to refrain from such acts or face the consequences, Sotiyo added that the NSCDC is committed to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
TREND REPORTERS gathered that the vandals were arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ede on Monday, April 14, 2025 where they pleaded not guilty to the charges slammed against them.
Meanwhile, the court subsequently remanded them at the Ife Correctional Centre.
