NLC Demands 65 Years Retirement Age for all Civil Servants

Workers Day: NLC Demands 65 Years Retirement Age for all Civil Servants

The organized Labor has called for the upward review of the retirement age for all categories of civil servants.

President of the Nigeria Labor Congress, Joe Ajaero, made the demand at the May Day celebration, which was held in Eagle Square, Abuja, on Thursday.

The NLC president observed that it was imperative to extend the revised retirement age of 65 years or 40 years of service currently enjoyed by teachers, health professionals, and judges to all public servants.

Ajaero had previously promised that the NLC would do everything to meet with President Bola Tinubu on the matter.

Former president Muhammadu Buhari had approved the 65-year retirement age and 40 years of work for retirement from service in an Act he signed into law.
