Nigeria Customs Service to Establish New Command – Adeniyi

The Nigeria Customs Service is to establish a new Customs Area Command at the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone, SIIFZ.

The development was a sequel to an official visit to the facility recently by the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Adewale Adeniyi.

During the visit, the customs boss expressed delight at the level of investment made on the island.

“The service is in the final stages of documentation to establish a dedicated command at the free zone, which will enhance operations and strengthen regulatory presence,” he stated.

Adeniyi stated that they are just at the stage where they are finalizing all the documentation and assured that by the next time he visits the place, he will be received by a Customs Area Controller.

In his remarks, the managing director of SIIFZ, Semiu Akorede, expressed appreciation for the service’s support and highlighted the significance of the visit to the zone’s operational growth.

Akorede expressed the belief that the coming of the Comptroller General of Customs is going to add a lot of value to what they do.

He solicited continued support from Customs officers that are working with them and those that come to carry out some operations.
