Many people have been killed and many others injured after persons suspected to be hoodlums attacked Ndieguzu Agalegu Omege community in the Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
At least ten houses were also reportedly burnt in the incident which allegedly broke out between the people of Omege Agalagu and Ukwuinyima.
While details of what led to the clashes are still sketchy as at press time, a source in the community attributed the crisis to a fight which occurred in November 2024 when they buried one woman that was allegedly raped and killed.
The Police public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Joshua Ukandu confirmed the development, noting that the police is maintaining order in the area.
Ukandu further stated that an investigation has been launched into the matter.
