Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 34-year-old man identified as Olayinka Issac, for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Rounder area of Abeokuta North Local Government.
According to report, the suspect lured the teenager into a nearby bush behind the “Carry Go” area of the community and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident disclosed that the incident occurred on Thursday at about 4 pm.
The police spokesperson further said a member of the state community Social Orientation and Safety Corps helped identify the suspect, visited the survivor’s mother, and informed her of the incident.
Odutola further stated that detectives from the Ilupeju Division arrested the suspect and rushed the survivor to the hospital for medical care.
While noting that preliminary investigation had commenced, the police PRO added that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further action.
