A 22-year-old man identified as Razak Jimoh has been axed and shot to death by unknown gunmen.
According to report, two masked men chased the victim, who ran into a residence, forcefully dragged him out to the corridor, axed him on the leg, and shot him in the head.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. on Thursday in the Lantoro area of Abeokuta.
Odutola stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kemta Division, upon getting the information, immediately mobilized detectives to the crime scene.
The police image maker further said his remains have since been deposited at the General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.
Odutola disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo has ordered a manhunt for the culprits and assured that those involved would face the full wrath of the law.
