Kauru Local Government Community Development Association in Kaduna State has raised concerns over the security challenges confronting the area.
The association’s chairman, Abel Habila Adamu, lamented that the recent surge in violence and attacks in the area has resulted in the loss of lives, displacement of people as well as destruction of property.
In a statement in Kaduna, Adamu observed that the situation has gone bad to a point where they require immediate intervention from the relevant security agencies and the global community.
The chairman called on the government to establish two military bases, one each in Kauru and Kumana chiefdoms, to curb the security challenges in the area.
He expressed the hope that the military bases, if established will provide a permanent security presence in the area, and thereby helped to deter attacks and provide a sense of security for the local population.
The chairman thanked government for the establishment of a military base in Chawai chiefdom and called for the provision of more security personnel to address the pockets of attacks being witnessed in parts of the chiefdom.
