…….. Calls on government to put Measures in Place to Address Economic Difficulties
The Senior Pastor, Banner of Solution Christian Assembly International, Edo State, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Igiehon has called on Christians all over the world to give thanks to God for the year 2024 and give to the needy as they celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ who brought glad tidings to the Christian fold and the world in general.
He made the call while speaking to journalists on the significance of Christmas at the church auditorium in Benin City.
The clergyman urged well meaning individuals, government and corporate bodies to use the occasion to show love to the less privileged in society.
He pointed out that Nigerians has lost hope because of the harsh economic circumstance in the country as the prices of goods and services has gone up. He called on government to put policies in place to make the harsh economic situation a thing of the past.
” I want to appeal to government as a clergyman, modalities should be put in place to checkmate the prices of goods and services. Government should look towards subsidizing the economy so people can feed themselves. Chicken that we used to buy at Five thousand naira is now thirty thousand naira. Same thing goes for other prices of goods. Government should take advantage of this season to show love and make efforts to reverse the economic downturn in the country“.
Apostle Dr. Igiehon also called on the new Governor of Edo state, Sen. Monday Okpebholo to focus on real issues affecting the people of the state.
“ I want to encourage our new Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo to pay more attention to people oriented issues as he has already stated well. Edo people believe he’ll be able to deliver the hope and change they’re yearning for. People of Edo State are expecting a lot from him. He should engage people of integrity and knowledge as Commissioners and Advisers to help him realize his laudable dreams and aspirations for the people of Edo. Edo people believe he can bring about the change they are praying for, so what he needs now are men who will help him drive the change“.
He prayed God to grant the governor the wisdom and strength to govern the state and deliver the dividend of democracy to the good people of the state who elected him into office.
Apostle Dr. Igiehon called on Christians to use the period in praying fervently for peace and abundant blessings in the coming year 2025.
