…. Sector Commander Cautions Motorists against Excessive Speeding
Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Cyril Mathew, has confirmed a fatal multiple road crash that claimed the lives of two persons in Benin City.
Four other persons also sustained serious, but varying degrees of injuries in the crash that occurred in the evening hours of Tuesday, in the Ikhueniro community, along the Benin-Agbor Road.
Confirming the incident in a statement, the sector commander noted that three vehicles were involved in the crash.
He attributed the cause to excessive speed.
Mr. Matthew explained that six people, including two male adults and four female adults, were involved in the accident.
According to him, the injured victims were rushed to a hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in a morgue.
The sector commander cautioned motorists against overspeeding and urged them to prioritise safety, obey traffic rules and regulations, avoid night journeys and drunk driving, and always fasten their seat belts to ensure safe travel during the yuletide.
