The federal government has confirmed the recruitment of an additional 30,000 youth into the Nigeria Police Force.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, confirmed the development to journalists in his office.
The lawmaker, representing Jigawa North East, said the Police Service Commission was given approval to recruit more police officers to ensure proper policing and bridge the existing manpower gaps.
While noting that the number will be recruited every year to fill the gap in the Force, Madori noted that the service will announce the recruitment via national dailies.
He cautioned Nigerians to be careful not to fall into the hands of scammers.
