The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the establishment of the National Paramilitary Academy.
The country’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave the approval for the setting up of the institution at the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting on Monday.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known in Abuja on Wednesday, while speaking with the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
The minister pointed out that upon establishment, the National Paramilitary Academy will train young citizens in paramilitary engagement after securing admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
Tunji-Ojo expressed the hope that citizens will graduate from the institution as properly trained officers and ready to contribute their quota to national security.
