Former Ukrainian armed forces chief, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi has accused the United States of destroying the current world order.
Zaluzhnyi, who led Ukraine’s defence during the first two years of Moscow’s full-scale invasion, made the accusation as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sought to mend relations with Washington after a heated White House dispute with President Donald Trump.
The former army chief said Ukraine had maintained its independence despite hostility and threats from allies.
Zaluzhnyi, who is also the current Ukrainian ambassador to Britain, made the observation at London’s Chatham House think tank, following Trump’s decision to freeze military aid and intelligence-sharing with Kyiv— moves.
“It’s obvious the White House has questioned the unity of the entire Western world. Because we see that it’s not just the axis of evil and Russia trying to revise the world order, but the US is ultimately destroying the order,” he stated.
