The management of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service, EIRS, has called on security agencies to support it in the enforcement of tax collection in the State.
The executive chairman of the Service, Oladele Bankole-Balogun, made the call during a visit to the Edo State commands of the Nigeria Police and Department of State Security Service.
While stating that the Service generated over N10 billion in January 2025, the EIRS executive chairman solicited the collaboration of the security agencies in sustaining the record with a view to ensuring compliance with the tax laws.
Bankole-Balogun also pleaded for the support of the security agencies for the operations of the agency.
On her part, Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, appreciated the EIRS management for the visit and assured that the Command would support and partner with the agency to sustain the IGR collection.
The commissioner of police emphasized that IGR is needed by the government to bring more development to the people of the state.
