Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa has commended president Bola Tinubu for breaking the barriers of paucity of funds militating against the dreams of Nigerian students with the setting up of the Nigerian Education Loan fund, NELFUND.
The deputy Governor made the remark when he received the Managing Director and other management staff of the Nigerian Education Loan fund in Government House, Benin city.
He also commended the former speaker of the 9th Federal House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila who sponsored the bill to set up the Loan fund scheme.
Mr. Idahosa gave an assurance that Edo State Government would collaborate with relevant Agencies to drive the process by mobilising and sensitising all students who are bonafied indigenes of the state and are qualified for the loan, to embrace the concept.
The deputy Governor said Edo State being the Heart Beat state,was committed to skillful Educational development where all students irrespective of tribe, gender and religious affiliations are entitled to Qualitative Education.
On his part, managing Director, Nigeria Education Loan fund, Akintunde Sawyerr said the Nigeria Education Loan fund came into existence through the initiative of president Bola Tinubu, to address the level of drop out of school children as a result of paucity of funds.
