Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa has reassured members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Edo State Chapter, of government’s support.
The deputy governor gave the assurance on Thursday, February 6, 2024, when he received NAWOJ delegation led by its Chairperson, Adesuwa Ehimuan, in his office at the Edo State Government House.
Idahosa expressed the believe that collaborating with the professional body based on its upcoming programs would affect and benefit society positively.
While praising members of NAWOJ for being professionals in their reportage, the deputy governor stated that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration is a people oriented one, with fairness, equity and justice, as its core mandate.
He observed that the body of women journalists went about doing their professional duties accurately, disseminating information, even when practitioners had to sometime make personal sacrifices for societal good.
He promised to give feedback to the group based on raised areas of needs to run its secretariat and collaborative efforts with government for upcoming events.
