The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise, CPPE, has criticized the proposed Raw Materials Bill.
The bill currently before the National Assembly seeks to restrict manufacturers from importing essential raw materials and intends to impose barriers on exports.
Chief Executive Officer of CPPE, Dr. Muda Yusuf, made the position of the center known in a statement on Monday, as the Raw Materials Bill awaits passage by the National Assembly.
The CPPE expressed the belief that the bill would result in significant adverse and unintended consequences for Nigerian exporters and manufacturers.
To this end, it called for the bill to be withdrawn.
