A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu Lagos State, has remanded a 54-year-old man, identified as Kajola Ahmed, in a correctional centre over alleged defilement of a 12-year-old girl.
Ahmed, whose address was not provided, was charged with defilement.
Prosecuting counsel, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that Ahmed committed the offence on July 17 at about 11am.
He further said the defendant committed the offence at No. 28, Tomatee Hotel Street, Ajegunle in the Ita-Oluwo area of Ikorodu.
The prosecuting counsel further stated that the crime contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Meanwhile, the Chief Magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, has adjourned the case till Feb. 27 for legal advice from the office of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.
It was learnt that the judge did not take the defendant’s plea before the adjournment.
