
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Bauchi State has apprehended 21 individuals suspected of cybercrime.
The Gombe Zonal Directorate of the commission carried out the arrest on Saturday, following credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet fraud.
A statement released by the EFCC on Monday through their official X handle, disclosed that the operation took place in Kaure New Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Awala, Maiduguri Road, Bauchi.
Items recovered from the suspected internet fraudsters include a BMW car, a Toyota Camry, three PlayStation 5 consoles and 30 high-end mobile phones.
Others are six Point-of-Sale (POS) machines, a flat-screen television, four iPads and five laptops.
Meanwhile, the anti-graft agency has given an assurance that the suspects would be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
