Bank of Industry Affirms Support for Entrepreneurial Development

The Bank of Industry, BOI, has said that it would continue to support entrepreneurship development among youths in the country through tech hubs.

Managing Director of the bank, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, made the remark on the sidelines of the 2025 Award of Excellence [for] Innovations and Entrepreneurship Development at Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, on Wednesday.

He emphasized that the country must move beyond isolated initiatives to system-wide transformation, which requires alignment between policy, partnerships, and platforms that unlock opportunities for millions.

Dr. Olusi disclosed that the need to adopt youth-first industrial policies that address four core pillars of skills, finance, infrastructure, and regulatory support has become paramount.

He avowed that BOI is launching impact funds that would use various financial instruments—from debt to equity—to support high-growth enterprises, strategic value chain companies, and provide assistance to struggling businesses across Nigeria.

The BOI Managing Director commended the authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University for the prestigious Award of Excellence presented to him by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simeon Banire.

On his part, the vice-chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, appreciated Olusi for his transformative ideas and contributions to the development of the tech hub as a driver of economic growth.
