A man identified as Chiemelie Oborji has reportedly killed a pregnant nurse in Umueri village, Ogbunike, in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to the report, the suspect lured the nurse under the pretext that his mother was ill and needed medical attention.
Commentary in a viral Facebook video reveals that no sooner had the woman arrived than she was butchered by the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene immediately afterwards.
Posting under the name Iroko Ogbunike, an indigene of the community, claimed the victim’s body showed that vital organs had been removed before she was dumped in a pit near the suspect’s compound.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that parts of the nurse’s body were missing, raising strong suspicions of a ritual killing.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, for confirmation were unsuccessful as of press time.
