The Abia State government has cautioned against all forms of bribery and extortion of job seekers in its teachers employment exercise.
The State Governor, Alex Otti had last week approved the employment of over two thousand teachers, as parts of efforts to revive education and address the shortage of teachers in the state.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Ferdinand Ekeoma stated that the recruitment exercise would be transparent.
Ekeoma encouraged the applicants and the general public to report anyone, including officials of Abia State government, who may demand any form of bribery for the teaching jobs.
The state government observed that some of the desperate job seekers may fall into unpatriotic elements who have positioned themselves to hijack the exercise by extorting and defrauding applicants.
The recruitment is being conducted through online application by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
