
No fewer than four soldiers have been confirmed dead, with several others wounded, in an attack on a military base in the Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
TREND REPORTERS gathered that the assault was carried out on Sunday evening by fighters from the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP).
According to the report, the terrorists, riding on motorcycles, targeted the village of Warja, located between Sabon Gari and Damboa.
They overwhelmed the military base, killing soldiers and setting fire to military vehicles and equipment.
The attackers destroyed numerous armoured vehicles, including tanks and personnel carriers, and made off with large quantities of weapons.
