The Edo State House of Assembly has terminated the appointments of all political appointees attached to its members.
Announcing the ban on the fl0or of the house, the Speaker, Mr. Blessing Agbebaku said that the decision was unanimously agreed upon by all 24 members of the House.
He listed the affected appointees as special advisers, senior special advisers, and others.
The Speaker explained that the appointees were initially appointed by House members upon the inauguration of the Eighth Assembly in June 2023.
While assuring the dismissed appointees that they would receive this month salaries, the speaker added that lawmakers would meet to determine the next course of action.
