Gunmen have kidnapped the Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Isokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Rev. Father Livinus Maurice.
Rev Father Maurice was abducted along with two others.
The cleric was abducted on Wednesday, along the Elele-Isiokpo Road, while returning from a hospital visit.
The Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt confirmed the incident in a statement signed by the Chancellor, Reverend Father Bernadine Anaele.
The church called on members of Port Harcourt Diocese and Nigeria at large to pray for the safe and unconditional release of the priest and his companions.

Confirming the abduction, spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Irunge-Koko disclosed that security forces are actively investigating the case.
She assured that efforts are underway to ensure the safe release of the victims, as well as apprehend the perpetrators.
