
The majority leader of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and member representing Owan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, prof. Julius Ihonvbere has been commended for his contributions towards the establishment of the Federal University of Sports, Afuze.
Vice President, South-South, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, comrade Innocent Ajayi gave the commendation, while speaking with TREND REPORTERS on the approval by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of the university.
The NYCN vice president observed that the sighting of the institution in Afuze, is a testament to the fact that prof. Ihonvbere is a man interested in the development of the entire Owan nation and not that of his local government (Owan West) alone.
While appreciating the lawmaker, on behalf of the people of Owan, Edo and South-South, comrade Ajayi expressed the believe that the university would not only provide jobs for the teeming youth of Nigeria but also bring about massive development of both Owan East and Owan West Local Government Areas of Edo State.
The NYCN vice president also thanked president Tinubu for granting approval for the establishment of the Federal University of Environment in Ogoni.
According to him, the development would go a long way in addressing the menace of environmental degradation which has been an age long challenge to the people of Ogoni land.
